Baseball Game Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. Mission Vista

The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will head out on the road to challenge Mission Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Things were looking good for Canyon Crest Academy after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Fallbrook by a score of 8-7. The Ravens have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canyon Crest Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Leshner, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Leshner has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Jack Harkin, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Mission Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-3 to Escondido. Mission Vista fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Escondido since on Tuesday.

Mission Vista's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1.

Canyon Crest Academy beat Mission Vista 7-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon Crest Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
