Softball Recap: Bishop Manogue Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bishop Manogue and Spanish Springs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bishop Manogue had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 10-8. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Miners, who until this contest were averaging 3.06 runs allowed.

Reese Vaulet was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Loralei Hysell, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Bishop Manogue's loss dropped their record down to 23-11-1. As for Spanish Springs, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-11-1 record this season.

Bishop Manogue does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spanish Springs, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-7 win against Reed on the 10th.
