Metro Academy posted their closest victory since February 15th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Mary's Academy Crusaders, sneaking past 49-46. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, St. Mary's Academy still got an impressive performance from Titus Varnado, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Nick Engholm, who posted four points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Metro Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Mary's Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Metro Academy will head out to square off against Nevada at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
