Baseball Recap: Overton Bobcats vs. Centennial Cougars
Overton extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 15-13 in the process. They came up short against the Centennial Cougars, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for Centennial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 18-4).
For Centennial's part, not much got past Drew McAllister, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Overton off the board. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for McAllister.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Shepler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Gant, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
