El Modena had to settle for second on Friday, but Xzavior Guess sure wasn't going down easily. Guess was dynamite, rushing for 170 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 147 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
If history really does repeat itself, Guess might just drop another big game when he faces off against Cypress on Thursday. When Guess last faced the Centurions back in August of 2023, he rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 186 yards and a touchdown.

Bryson Busbee's Rushing Yards a New Career-High
Sadly, Bryson Busbee posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Cypress over Trabuco Hills on Friday. Busbee rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.
Cypress is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. Busbee and Cypress will square off against El Modena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Zale Came Up Big in Trabuco Hills' 42-28 Victory
Another Trabuco Hills player making an appearance on this list is Tristan Zale. He threw for 356 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing score.
