Football Game Preview: Carson Senators vs. Douglas Tigers

The Carson Senators will head out on the road to challenge the Douglas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Carson is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Hug: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Senators blew the Hawks out of the water with a 49-6 final score. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Carson's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zack Eaton, who picked up 116 receiving yards and one TD. Tyler Silsby was another key player, throwing for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five passes.

Carson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Carson's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Hug's side was Brody Eck, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Douglas suffered their closest defeat since September 27, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Bishop Manogue by a score of 48-46. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Carson, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Carson was dealt a bruising 47-13 defeat at the hands of Douglas when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Senators were down 30-0.
