Volleyball Game Preview: Lufkin Panthers vs. Melissa Cardinals

The Lufkin Panthers will face off against the Melissa Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lufkin will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lufkin duked it out with Texas on Monday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win.

Lufkin walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-12, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Melissa came up short against McKinney North on Friday, falling 3-0. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: McKinney North scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.

Melissa's loss dropped their record down to 21-17. As for Lufkin, their win bumped their record up to 34-9.
