Recap: Mater Brickell Academy Bulls vs. Mater Academy Bay Rays
On Monday, Mater Brickell Academy humbled Mater Academy Bay with a 56-15 victory. With that win, Mater Brickell Academy brought their scoring average up to 50.7 points per game.
Mater Brickell Academy found their leader in underclassman Antonio Medina, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Medina is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Raul Fernandez, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
The win got Mater Brickell Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Mater Academy Bay, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mater Brickell Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome MAST Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 10th. MAST Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Mater Academy Bay, they will be playing at home against Academy for Innovative Education at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Academy for Innovative Education focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 back in December of 2023.
