Basketball Game Preview: Iola Bulldogs vs. Bremond Tigers

The Iola Bulldogs will challenge the Bremond Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Iola is looking for their season's first win.

Iola is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Leon on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Iola was outmatched by Leon and fell 46-19. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Bremond strolled past Clifton with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 54-37. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Cubs are ranked 651st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Bremond and bumps their season record up to 12-2. As for Iola, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Iola beat Bremond 32-25 in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Does Iola have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bremond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
