Basketball Recap: Virgin Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Elian Pinto and Corban Waite

Virgin Valley suffered their closest loss since December 8, 2023 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Elko Indians by a score of 55-52. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 48-38 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Virgin Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Corban Waite, who posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals, and Elian Pinto, who put up 11 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Drew Dixon, who had nine points.

Virgin Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Virgin Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-43 win against Lowry on the 6th. As for Elko, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-50 loss against Reno on the 6th.
