Baseball Recap: Cooper City Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Cooper City had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Monarch Knights by a score of 6-5. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Cooper City got a good showing from Nicholas Potter, who didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Adrian Graterol made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he also racked up two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Pitti- Shortt, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Coming up, Cooper City will head out on the road to challenge Everglades at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monarch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olympic Heights at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
