It was fun while it lasted, but Compton Early College's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Friday. They fell just short of the Lawndale Cardinals by a score of 11-10. The match marked the Rising Phoenix's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Compton Early College fell to 4-1. As for Lawndale, they moved to 1-3 with that win, which also ended their 20-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Compton Early College will take on Dominguez at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Compton Early College has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Lawndale, they will square off against Culver City at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
