Basketball Recap: Louis Mercantino's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Penn-Liberty over Northeast Bradford

North Penn-Liberty lost against Northeast Bradford two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Penn-Liberty Mountie fell just short of the Northeast Bradford Panthers by a score of 50-47. The match marked the Mountie's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Mountie players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Louis Mercantino, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Mercantino a new career-high in assists (six). Another player making a difference was Evan Mctish, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

North Penn-Liberty now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Northeast Bradford, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Penn-Liberty and Meadowbrook Christian will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Northeast Bradford, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Sayre at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
