Baseball Recap: Villa Madonna Comes Up Short

Villa Madonna lost against Summit Country Day back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Vikings fell 8-5 to the Silver Knights. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luke Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Villa Madonna: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5-1 otherwise. Ryan McLagan also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

Villa Madonna's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Summit Country Day, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

While Villa Madonna had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
