Softball Game Preview: Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars vs. Fort Dale Academy Eagles

The Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Fort Dale Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Crenshaw Christian Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Southern Christian on Saturday. Crenshaw Christian Academy was the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Southern Christian. The win was just business as usual for the Cougars, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Dale Academy gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Monroe Academy by a score of 10-5. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Natalie Skipper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anna Claire Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Brinkley Long also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Crenshaw Christian Academy's record is now 3-0. As for Fort Dale Academy, their record now sits at 4-1.
