Lejeune had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Pender Patriots, falling 74-7. The Devil Pups haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Connor Shea threw for 104 yards and a touchdown. Andrew Finnerty was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards.

Jeremiah Johnson was nothing short of spectacular for Pender: he rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Jahiem Lambe was another key rusher, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown.
