Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Valley Christian Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

While Pioneer Valley Christian's victory against Athol wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bears 3-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Pioneer Valley Christian got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 18-25, 25-19, 26-28, 15-8.

Pioneer Valley Christian pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Athol, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Athol will venture away from home to take on Southwick Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pioneer Valley Christian will be paying especially close attention to the Bears' game: after the Bears faces off against Sci-Tech, they'll take on Pioneer Valley Christian again at 5:15 p.m. on the 28th.
