Basketball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy Patriots vs. Pelion Panthers

The American Leadership Academy Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Pelion Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. American Leadership Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

American Leadership Academy was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ninety Six on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy was the clear victors by a 61-39 margin over Ninety Six. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Patriots have posted since December 3, 2024.

Meanwhile, Pelion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Batesburg-Leesville.

American Leadership Academy will have to contain Kolton Rogers as he made an impact in Pelion's last game. He dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Rogers a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of John Berned, who posted nine points and three steals.

American Leadership Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Pelion, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

American Leadership Academy and Pelion were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but American Leadership Academy came up empty-handed after a 35-34 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rogers, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points in addition to six boards and five steals.
