Keigan Sprovieri put up the most strikeouts she's had since back in March on Monday. She struck out three batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

Even though Sprovieri couldn't lead Joliet Catholic over Nazareth Academy, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sadly, Sprovieri's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Hilltoppers' three-game streak of wins at home. With the streak broken, Sprovieri and the Hilltoppers surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Wednesday's match.
