Softball Game Preview: Quaker Valley Quakers vs. Moon Area Tigers

The Quaker Valley Quakers will head out to square off against the Moon Area Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Quaker Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against New Brighton as they made off with an 11-2 win. Considering the Quakers have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Moon Area was able to grind out a solid victory over Ambridge on Monday, taking the game 5-1.

Moon Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Ray, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Ray a new career-high. Another was Katie DeMarco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Moon Area hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Quaker Valley's record is now 5-8. As for Moon Area, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
