Holmes proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stevens Falcons, sneaking past 10-9. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.

Hannah Melendez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Liliana Vallez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Holmes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The last time their OBP was this high was since the start of last season.

Holmes' record now sits at 7-8. As for Stevens, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coincidentally, Holmes and Stevens will both be playing Taft the next time they take the field. Holmes will host Taft at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Stevens will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
