Soccer Game Preview: Sunset vs. Southridge

The Sunset Knights will take on the Southridge Spartans in a holiday battle at at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sunset's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Sunset turned things around against Hialeah on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Southridge entered their matchup against Ferguson on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Southridge fell 3-1 to Ferguson. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Spartans couldn't push the score so high this time.

Sunset's draw gives them a new season record of 2-7-2. As for Southridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2-1.
