Basketball Recap: Aztec Wins Going Away Against Mccurdy

It was a proper cat-fight when Aztec faced off against McCurdy on Friday. The Aztec Tigers put the hurt on the McCurdy Bobcats with a sharp 50-24 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Jazzlyn Gomez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Khloe Schmidt was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten steals.

Aztec smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Aztec is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.7 points. As for McCurdy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.
