Basketball Recap: Francis W. Parker Takes a Loss

Francis W. Parker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake View Wildcats. The Colonels were probably out for revenge after losing 52-37 to them when the teams met back in January of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Francis W. Parker saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ayla Pressman posted seven points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Francis W. Parker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

It was another big night for Jada Marrero, who put up 22 points for Lake View.

Francis W. Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Lake View, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Francis W. Parker won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
