Basketball Recap: Don Bosco Cristo Rey Comes Up Short

Don Bosco Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between the Don Bosco Cristo Rey Wolfpack and the Avalon Black Knights didn't end well, with the Don Bosco Cristo Rey Wolfpack falling 87-68. While losing is never fun, the Wolfpack can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Black Knights are ranked 81st).

It was another big night for Jordan Fox, who went 15-for-24 to rack up 37 points along with seven steals and six rebounds for Avalon. Fox's big performance that afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Toran Ayana was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Don Bosco Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Avalon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Don Bosco Cristo Rey does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Avalon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 88-66 win against Paul Public Charter International on the 1st.
