Basketball Recap: Central Crossing Comes Up Short

Central Crossing played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 62-18 loss at the hands of the Pickerington North Panthers. The Comets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.

Pickerington North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Arness Lawson, who went 9 of 17 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Lawson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jr Bates, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points and four steals.

Central Crossing's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pickerington North, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Crossing will take on London at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pickerington North, they will challenge Grove City at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
