Baseball Recap: Millard South Wins High-Profile Game Against Millard North

Millard South faced Millard North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 7-6. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Millard South got a great performance from Jackson Corey as he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Braden Swaney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Millard South's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Millard North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-4.
