Volleyball Recap: Lake Marion Takes a Loss

Lake Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hampton County Hurricanes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lake Marion took Hampton County into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 21-25, 19-25, 15-12.

Lake Marion now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Hampton County, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Coincidentally, Lake Marion and Hampton County will both be playing Whale Branch the next time they take the court. The Gators will head out to face the Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Hurricanes will host them at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
