West Carter and Raceland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The West Carter Comets will square off against the Raceland Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Carter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

West Carter easily dispatched Elliott County on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. West Carter fell just short of Floyd Central by a score of 61-58 on Saturday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (57), the Comets still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Raceland). They strolled past Pendleton County with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 74-58.

Raceland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 18-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points over those games. As for West Carter, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.

West Carter came up short against Raceland when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 57-51. Can West Carter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
