Football Recap: Lazaro Faraj-Washington Key Part of Team Effort in Monarchs Win + How To Watch

Archbishop Mitty's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 33-20 win over the Wilcox Chargers. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Monarchs considering their 12-point performance the match before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archbishop Mitty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lazaro Faraj-Washington, who rushed for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and one score. Joseph Engin was another key passer, throwing for 224 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes.

Despite the loss, Wilcox still got an impressive performance from Elijah Vallejo, who rushed for 155 yards and three scores.

The victory got Archbishop Mitty back to even at 1-1. As for Wilcox, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Archbishop Mitty will square off against Menlo-Atherton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilcox, they will challenge Hollister at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
