Basketball Game Preview: Lake Worth Bullfrogs vs. Burkburnett Bulldogs

The Lake Worth Bullfrogs will head out on the road to challenge the Burkburnett Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Worth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.

Lake Worth is headed into Friday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Springtown. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bullfrogs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Porcupines are ranked 1184th).

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Braylen Fridia, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Favian Lopez, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Burkburnett came up short against Krum on Tuesday and fell 61-54. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 16-9 in the first quarter.

Burkburnett's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Lake Worth, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Lake Worth was dealt a bruising 76-21 defeat at the hands of Burkburnett in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Lake Worth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
