Basketball Game Preview: Collins Tigers vs. Richton Rebels

The Collins Tigers will head out to face off against the Richton Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Collins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Richton likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Collins came up short against Heidelberg and fell 72-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Richton beat North Forrest 48-36 on Thursday. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Eagles are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richton's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Collins, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Collins came up short against Richton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 76-71. Can Collins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
