Basketball Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. North Lenoir Hawks

South Lenoir is 2-8 against North Lenoir since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The South Lenoir Blue Devils just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the North Lenoir Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

South Lenoir is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-34 heartbreaker at the hands of Havelock.

Meanwhile, North Lenoir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 53-36 fall against James Kenan. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 12-8 in the first quarter.

North Lenoir's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for South Lenoir, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

South Lenoir suffered a grim 40-16 defeat to North Lenoir when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for South Lenoir, Shamaya Lynch (who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
