Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Chilhowee

Chilhowee took a 23-point loss the last time they faced off against Sheldon, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Chilhowee Indians had just enough and edged the Sheldon Panthers out 39-37. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Panthers are ranked 179th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Sheldon still got an impressive performance from Mariam Lamb, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. That was a full 35.1% of Sheldon's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wynsdae Connelly, who earned 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

The win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22.2 points. As for Sheldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Chilhowee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-30 victory against Hume on the 7th. As for Sheldon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-17 loss against Montrose on the 7th.
