Basketball Recap: Astronaut Comes Up Short

Astronaut lost against Rockledge back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Astronaut War Eagles were beaten by the Rockledge Raiders 55-5. The match marked the War Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jordyn Bradley had a dynamite game for Rockledge, putting up 25 points and five steals. Bradley's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Shaniya Jones, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Astronaut's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Rockledge, they moved to 3-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astronaut will welcome Merritt Island at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Rockledge, they will host Cocoa Beach at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Rockledge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
