Recap: Mohave Thunderbirds vs. Mingus Marauders
The Mohave Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 63-22 loss at the hands of Mingus. Mohave has struggled against Mingus recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Mingus was led to victory by Brianka Villalobos and Savannah Tobias. Villalobos scored 19 points along with six steals, while Tobias dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 steals. Tobias is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Makela Martinez was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven assists and five steals.
Mohave has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Mingus, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohave will take on Lee Williams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Lee Williams is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Mingus, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Prescott at 7:00 p.m.
