Basketball Recap: Linden-McKinley Panthers vs. Northland Vikings

Linden-McKinley lost against Northland back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Linden-McKinley Panthers took a hard 55-36 fall against the Northland Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 578th, while the Vikings are ranked 142nd).

Northland was led to victory by Diante James and Nehemiah McMorris. James went 5 of 11 en route to 22 points along with seven assists and four steals, while McMorris went 9 for 19 on his way to 22 points and seven boards. James is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Owan Mburugu was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Linden-McKinley's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Northland, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Linden-McKinley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northland, they will take on Africentric Early College on February 15th. Africentric Early College will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something Northland surely won't give up without a fight.
