St. Raymond Boys' loss ends six-game winning streak on the road

Recap: St. Raymond Boys Ravens vs. Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders

The St. Raymond Boys Ravens and the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders (ranked 60 and 18 in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile match. St. Raymond Boys took a serious blow against Archbishop Stepinac on Friday, falling 100-71. St. Raymond Boys has not had much luck with Archbishop Stepinac recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Archbishop Stepinac's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylan Ritvo, who scored 20 points. Ritvo continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Boogie Fland was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

St. Raymond Boys' loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Archbishop Stepinac, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Raymond Boys will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Iona Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Stepinac, they will look to defend their home court on Sunday against St. Peter's at 1:30 p.m.
