Basketball Recap: West Carter Takes a Loss

West Carter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 66-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Powell County Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Pirates are ranked 45th).

West Carter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Powell County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

West Carter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-58 win against Bath County on the 17th. As for Powell County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-56 victory against Model on the 17th.
