Softball Game Preview: Carolina Academy Bobcats vs. Clarendon Hall Saints

The Carolina Academy Bobcats will head out to take on the Clarendon Hall Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Carolina Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since March 13th on Monday. They fell just short of Wilson Hall by a score of 9-7. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Natalie Braveboy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Anne Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Clarendon Hall came out on top against East Clarendon on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Saints put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.

Calli Yount spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mandy Wells, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Skylar Dymond was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Clarendon Hall has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Carolina Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Carolina Academy might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Clarendon Hall in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
