Basketball Recap: Atonement Academy Takes a Loss

Atonement Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Town East Christian Eagles, falling 45-17. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 63-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2021.

James Klimsak and Alex Groh certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Klimsak posted seven points, while Groh had seven points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Town East Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lindon Windhorst, who put up ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benyam Hailemariam, who earned 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Atonement Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Town East Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Atonement Academy will welcome Boerne Area Christian HomeSchoolers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Town East Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Salem Sayers Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
