Football Recap: Peabody Veterans Memorial Falls to Melrose in First Game of Season

Peabody Veterans Memorial had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 21-0 to the Melrose Red Raiders. The Tanners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peabody Veterans Memorial will challenge Winchester at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Melrose, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Reading Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
