Baseball Recap: Incline Takes a Loss

Incline extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-13 in the process. They lost 7-1 to the Yerington Lions. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Highlanders couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Yerington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For Yerington's part, Brent Brinkley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nolan Landa, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Valor Angle was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Incline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Yerington, they have already played their next game, a 9-4 victory against Battle Mountain on the 25th.
