Softball Recap: Lake Stevens Find Success

Lake Stevens won the last time they faced Meadowdale and things went their way on Friday too. Lake Stevens walked away with a 5-2 win over Meadowdale. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Mara Sivley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Lake Stevens' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Addi Fletcher, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those hits marked the first that Fletcher got this season. Another was Alyssa Anderson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

The win got Lake Stevens back to even at 2-2. As for Meadowdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Stevens will face off against Monroe at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lake Stevens is facing Monroe at the right time seeing as Monroe is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Meadowdale, they will welcome Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be Meadowdale's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
