Baseball Recap: Alleman Drops Season-High Score on Monmouth-Roseville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alleman). They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Monmouth-Roseville Titans on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on four straight.

Alleman got a massive performance out of Nolan Buchen, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Buchen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Awbrey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Alleman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Alleman pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Monmouth-Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alleman will welcome Geneseo at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers are facing the Maple Leafs at the right time seeing as the Maple Leafs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Monmouth-Roseville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Orion at 4:30 p.m. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
