Basketball Recap: 15 Straight Home Victories for Laramie

On Wednesday, Laramie faced East in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Laramie Plainsmen enjoyed a cozy 71-54 win over the East Thunderbirds. This was a revenge game for the Plainsmen: when they faced off against the Thunderbirds back in January, they had to take a 68-64 defeat.

Laramie's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Smith, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. Smith's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Neil Summers, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.

Laramie's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for East, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
