Softball Recap: Columbus Extends Winning Streak to 17

With a playoff win on the line, Columbus rose to the challenge on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Marion Bulldogs with a sharp 20-2 win. The Cardinals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory (which was Columbus' 17th in a row) raised their record to 27-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Marion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-10-3.

Coming up, Columbus will square off against Orange Grove on Saturday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups. Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
