Baseball Game Preview: Hermiston Bulldogs vs. Richland Bombers

Hermiston is 0-10 against Richland since March of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Bombers at 4:00 p.m. Hermiston has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hermiston is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-1 to Hanford, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Richland had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Bulldogs 7-1. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Richland pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Hermiston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Hermiston came up short against Richland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 5-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
