Volleyball Game Preview: Avon Eagles vs. Steele Comets

Avon has won four straight games at home, while Steele has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Comets at 6:00 p.m. Avon will be strutting in after a victory while Steele will be coming in after a defeat.

On Monday, Avon earned a 3-1 win over Euclid.

Avon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Steele lost 3-0 to Perrysburg on Thursday. The Comets have struggled against the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

While Steele was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Perrysburg's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.

Steele's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Avon, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
