Softball Recap: Riverdale Rams vs. Morrison Mustangs

After flying high against Stark County last Saturday, Riverdale came back down to earth. The Riverdale Rams' rough 9-1 loss to the Morrison Mustangs on Friday might stick with them for a while. Riverdale was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Morrison apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Breckin DeLaRosa was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Dalaska, who went 3-for-4 with a stolen base.

On Morrison's side, Bella Duncan made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Duncan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs.

In other batting news, Jordan Eads was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Kiyah Wolber, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Riverdale's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7. As for Morrison, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Riverdale will take on Monmouth-Roseville at 4:30 p.m. in Saturday's first game. Riverdale is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Morrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sherrard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sherrard will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Morrison surely won't give up without a fight.
